Top Scot Bob MacIntyre got the putter working to secure himself a best rookie PGA Tour season finish at the Mexican Open.
MacIntyre, and despite bogeys at his 16th and 17th holes, regrouped to birdie the last in posting a final round 69 for a share of sixth place at 13-under.
He said: “It was a good week with a lot of positives. I had been playing good the last couple of weeks but just struggled over the putter, so everything is starting to feel a lot more comfortable”.
The Oban lefty arrived on the Pacific Ocean shoreline at Vidanta with just one prize cheque from four events after finishing just outside the top-50 in his maiden Tour event at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

He missed the halfway cut in the last three events before brilliantly bouncing back to form helped by respective Mexican Open second and third rounds of 66 and 65.
MacIntyre now heads this week to the opening event of the Florida Swing, the Cognizant Classic at PGA National, and where the Scot will tee-up for a first time with Rory McIlroy also in the field.
Former nightclub bouncer, American Jake Knapp captured a first Tour victory, signing for a closing 71 and win by two shots at 19-under.
