EXCLUSIVE .. Tiger To Tee-Up In 151st Open Championship

Great news as talented German amateur Tiger Christensen has grabbed the last of five qualifying spots on offer earlier today into the 151st Open Championship.

The Hamburg-born Christensen produced a superb second round 67 to share fourth place on nine-under at the West Lancashire course to be assured of making his way next fortnight to Royal Liverpool.

“It feels amazing to qualify for The Open. I’ve played really good golf over the last two weeks, especially at the European Amateur where I fell just short,” said Christensen. “It was good to see the putts drop today though and play my way into a major championship.

“I remember Rory winning at Royal Liverpool and hitting a bunch of bombs. I’ll go there and figure out a game plan. I’m long off the tee so hopefully I can make that work for me.”

In earning an Open tee time Christenen upstaged some of the greats of the game at West Lancs including Masters champion Sergio Garcia, who ended the 36-holer at six-under and former US Open winning Graeme McDowell who tied 11th.

Well done, Tiger
