Woods: “I Can Still Win Out Here & It Can Be A Big One!”

… Albany, The Bahamas

It comes as no surprise when Tiger Woods declares he not only feels he will win again but it can be a ‘big one’.

Woods, who turns 47 later this month, has not tasted success in well over three-years in capturing a fifth Masters, and the 15th major of his career with an emotional triumph at Augusta National though his tally of 15 majors is still three shy of ‘Golden Bear’ Jack Nicklaus.

As well, Woods remains tied with the late Sam Snead in sharing the number of wins with 82 PGA Tour victories apiece.

However Woods has hardly been seen inside the ropes since the events on a suburban LA street early in 2019, including this week in withdrawing due to a right foot injury from hosting the Hero World Challenge.

Tiger Woods guest commentating on NBC Golf

Instead, Woods has again taken to the microphone for a second time in three days as a guest commentator for NBC Golf and with son Charlie looking on.

One of the questions asked of Woods was what would be his goals if and when he eventually returns to full-time competition.

Woods said: “When I get back to competition, and that continues to be my goal, I feel I can still win out here and win a big one.

“The thing is even with my leg the way it is, I can still hit shots, but I can’t actually walk, and when I get back to being able to walk without injury then I can compete against these kids.”

Woods will be back to competition for the December 15th commencing PNC Championship in Orlando and again with his now 13-year-old son Charlie as his playing for a third year running.  It is also an event where Woods will again be allowed to use a motorised cart.

The use of motorised carts in PGA Tour sanctioned events, such as the Hero World Challenge, is not allowed.
