Ferguson ‘On Song’ As Dunhill Links Top Scot Thanks To Vamps Lead Singer

Glasgow’s Ewen Ferguson remains ‘on song’ as the leading Scot heading to the third round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Ferguson, and with The Vamps lead singer Brad Simpson as his partner, capped his round with a 14th hole eagle ‘3’ in posting a gutsy 73 at Carnoustie to be just four off the lead at six-under par.

Both Ferguson and Simpson are managed by Niall Horan’s Modest Golf and at 25-years (Ferguson) and 26-years of age respectively, Ferguson is loving teaming with Simpson.

He said: “I’m a big Vamps fan and with Brad and I being of similar ages, we’ve more to talk about. Playing with someone my age and someone I’m already a fan of as well, it’s good to take your mind off the golf, your mind off   Carnoustie! I think we both struggled at times out there”.

The pair share sixth place at 16-under par and only two from the front.

Next best of the Scots is Stevie Gallacher (68), and winner of the event in 2004, and Richie Ramsay (72) out on the Old Course to be just inside the top-20 at five-under par.
