Dumbarnie Links Re-Opens With Clubhouse Now Complete Awaiting Full Scottish Golf Experience Return.

Dumbarnie Links has used the winter months to proudly put the finishing touches on Scotland’s newest golf course ready for re-opening today – St. Patrick’s Day.

The Fife course had to put back it’s opening last year by two weeks unitil May 29th and the lifting of the golfing lockdown.

And in the short time it was opened until a winter closure some 15,000 Scottish golfers teed-up on the already much-acclaimed Clive Clark designed course near Upper Largo.

All were Fife golfers under the lockdown rules and showing their support for a new club laid-out just some 20-miles from St. Andrews and with the likes the Castle Course, Fairmont Resort, Kingsbarns Links, Crail Golfing Society and Ellie on the road to Dumbarnie Links.

Dumbarnie Links opened gates today without a divot to be spotted and already looking years beyond being 10-months old, plus there’s now a completed clubhouse and pro-shot facilities all ready to also be opened once the green light is shown for a full and ‘normal’ return to golf in Scotland.

David Scott is GM at Dumbarnie Links and he’s playing the first match today of the New Year in company of Malcolm Campbell who hit the opening tee-shot in May, and was instrumental in the course being built

“It’s exciting to be re-opening and while the clubhouse including the locker-rooms, lounges and bars are fully complete all Scottish clubs can only allow for the toilet facilities to be open during this time,” said Scott.

“Looking from the outside in, everything is absolutely finished and it looks magnificent.

“We had a photographic shoot last weekend and we’re delighted with how it’s all set-up.

“For the time being we’ll stay patient but outside of the clubhouse we’ll have a lovely set-up outside providing pizza, fish-and-chips, burgers, bacon rolls along with hot coffee and soft drinks.

“Golf course-wise the course is in great order for this time of year and we’ve not had to work on anything significant over the winter months.  We’re just worked on preparing the course for re-opening along with working on a few walkways.

“So, we’re looking forward patiently to welcoming guests from the world over once we get the advice of the Scottish Government.

“Though the for the time being we’ll concentrate on providing a great golfing experience outside of the clubhouse but then remain patient hopefully for a few more short months before offering our visitors the full golf and clubhouse experience”.

Well done Dumbarnie Links and good golfing to all!
