Woods Officially Makes It Two From Two New Season Cuts Ensuring Genesis Open Two Last Rounds By Two Shots.

Pacific Palisades, California …

Tournament host Tiger Woods breathed a huge sigh of relief making it two cuts from two new season starts at the rain-affected Genesis Open in suburban LA.

Woods was among half the field back to the course early on Saturday local time to complete their second rounds and Woods, who had six holes to play, capped his morning holing a 24-footer from just off the green at his last.

It handed Woods, who posted just 27 official putts and seven fewer than a day, a 71 for a one-under par total and two shots inside the cut-off mark under ‘preferred lie’ rules.

He said:  “Well, it was cold but not raining when we teed-of but it warmed-up nicely and thanks to that birdie at my last, I’m glad to be part of the two last rounds.”

The duo of Aussie Adam Scott and Justin Thomas headed into the handful of third round holes they will get to play ahead of darkness sharing the 36-hole lead at 11-under par.

Rory McIlroy, who played alongside both Woods and Thomas, birdied four of his last six second round holes in a round 63 to lying eighth at seven-under.
