Clarke End Miserable 18-Month Run Of Payless Play At Maybank C’ship.

Darren Clarke looks assured of a first European Tour pay cheque in some 18 months after posting a second round 68 to make the cut right on the four-under par mark at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur.

The former Open Champion did not drop a shot in the sauna-like conditions at the Saujana course and signing for a best Tour round since a similar 68 on day two of the 2015 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The last occasion Clarke played all four round on the European Tour was at the 2016 Open Championship.

The duo of Italy’s Nino Bertasio and Phachara Khongwatmai, and each with 65s, share the lead on 11-under par.
