Hatton Defends British Masters Behaviour Declaring He’s ‘Human’.

Defending Alfred Dunhill Links champion, Tyrrell Hatton has sought to defend his behaviour at last week’s British Masters.

Hatton, who turns 26 on October 14th, had led by three shots into the third round at Close House but clearly let his emotions get the better of him with many remarks picked-up in TV coverage over the final two days ahead of him ending in a share of eighth.

Hatton’s actions prompted former European Tour player, Gary Evans to take his England-born compatriot to task on Twitter.

Evans said:  “@TyrrellHatton you’re a great talent with potential but you need to grow up mate, your on course whinging and body language is a disgrace”.

Hatton responded to the criticism on the eve of the $US 5m event.

“I’m a passionate person and I just try my best to win a golf tournament,” he said.

“You know, occasionally that spills over, and I’m human. I’m going to make mistakes from time to time. Now, nobody’s perfect and everyone goes about their ways differently. But not to say one way is right and another way is wrong.

“I’m just trying to win, and in the heat of battle, sometimes you can do the wrong thing. That’s just how it is”.
