Ormsby Determined To Strike In Final Round Made In Denmark.

Adelaide’s Wade Ormsby has not ruled over victory given he is only four shots from the lead heading into the final round of the Made in Denmark.

After starting with a birdie but then bogeying his next two holes the racecar fan found top-gear with back-to-back at the fourth and fifth holes on the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort course.

Ormsby then bogeyed the ninth hole for a second day running but again managed to put the foot down and move to the overtaking lane with three birdies in succession from the 10th hole and then after a par at 13 he posted two ‘3’ with back-to-back birdies at 14 and 15 to move to a then share of third place at 11-under.

However, and for a second occasion in three days, Ormsby bogeyed the last in an eventual round of 67 on the par 71 Danish layout.

It handed Ormsby a third day share of 10th place but then only four adrift of England’s David Horsey who did not drop a shot in a seven-under 64 to lead by two at 14-under.

American Julian Suri, with a score of 65, is second on 12-under par and with four, including double Major winning John Daly, and now aged 50, turning back the clock also with a 65.

Ormsby is among five players on 10-under and with just four shots covering the leading 11 players.

The proud Aussie is contesting his 30th Tour event this week and the 255th European Tour event of his career and at 112th on the Race to Dubai Ormsby is not only looking for that long-overdue maiden European Tour victory but to cement his Tour card for 2018.

And after leading going into the last round a week ago in far off Fiji and then sharing the lead on day one in Denmark courtesy of a 64 Ormsby has the muscle to make that victory move on the final day.

Undoubtedly, the shot of the round was by England’s ‘hatless’ Robert Rock, who has Aussie caddy Kyle Roach on the bag, in holing his second shot at the par four 15th hole where his wedge shot landed well behind the flat and spun back into the hole.

Rock, and a two-time Tour winner, is among the group of in third spot.
