Padraig Harrington Confirms With Dunne Missing French Cut His Rio Partner Is Seamus Power.

Padraig Harrington agrees Web.com Tour-based Seamus Power will now be his Olympic Games team-mate.

The Ireland men’s team will not be confirmed officially to July 11th but after Greystone’s Paul Dunne missed the French Open halfway cut Harrington and Power are assured of representing Ireland.

As well, Dunne is not contesting next week’s Scottish Open and thus denying the 24-year a last ditch effort at Castle Stuart near Inverness to go ahead of Power.

“I would say with Paul unfortunately missing the cut here in France and not into the Scottish Open that it will be Seamus and myself heading to Rio,” said Harrington.

“Paul did need a big here this week and also to be playing in Scotland so I can’t see anybody else going ahead of Seamus and myself.

“So we’ll go to Rio and hopefully I can bring Ireland a gold medal.”
