McDowell Earns Royal Troon Tee Time & Where His Open Career Commenced.

Versailles, France … Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell has been an Open Championship tee time next month into Royal Troon.

McDowell was among 11 players to have secured places in The 145th Open at Royal Troon with the R & A handing tee times to those outside the top-50 starting from James Hanh ranked 58th and down to fellow American Tony Finau who is presently No. 78 in the world.

In fact, McDowell dropped three places on the rankings to be ranked World No. 76.  He had intended to qualify for The Open by being among the top-20 on the FedEx Cup points list post the Quicken Loans but after dropping to 22nd on the points list McDowell elected not to tee-up at Congressional.

It also will be satisfying to McDowell knowing he had made his Open debut in 2004 at Royal Troon and with G Mac this year to be teeing-up in hopefully a very lucky 13th Open Championship.

Graeme McDowell breathes a big sigh of relief knowing he's now into next month's Open.
