Langer is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the first World Rankings and with the German being the first to rule the world..

The highlight of their rounds came at the par-4 14th where Day sunk a 21 metre putt to record back-to-back birdies while Langer had the crowd cheering when he chipped in for birdie.

Then the 58-year-old Langer, who also would become golf’s oldest Major Champion should he capture a third Masters, sung the praises of Day after he out scored him in the third round shooting 2-under 70.

“It was fun being out there with Jason Day.  He’s a wonderful young man and I enjoyed his company,” said Langer.

“We had a good time out there talking about a lot of things such as families and fitness.

“He’s a phenomenal golfer, hits the ball a ton.  I’ve seldom seen somebody putt as well as he has today, so that was fun watching.”
