Tiger Woods Alights At Thompson’s Station To Inspect Site For Latest Golf Design.

No sooner had Tiger Woods been on hand for the opening of his first ‘Tiger Woods Design’ course in Texas and he visited Thompson’s Station, located some 30 miles south of Nashville in Tennessee, and site for his likely next Tiger Woods signature design course.

The golf course will be laid out on 1,229 acres as part of a $115m project by Dallas-based Beacon Land Development at Two Farms at Thompson’s Station.

“Tiger fell in love with the property,” said Mike Abbott, President of Beacon Land Development.

“Tiger believes that golf is going to transition into being played more on the ground. So the way this property just naturally rolls and the way it kind of moves up and down in a real natural way and how it has low groves of trees and how it creates some of the canopy and the corridors, he was surprised with what he saw. It was a great day and a great visit.”

Abbott said the goal of the visit to Williamson County was to take Woods’ interest in designing the 18-hole course to another level, and that was achieved.

“It’s kind of in our court now,” Abbott said. “We had Tiger’s initial interest, and now we have greater interest from his group. Tiger is a really hands-on guy. Things are moving in the right direction.”

Woods was accompanied on the visit by Bryon Bell, President of Tiger Woods Design.

“It’s clear Thompson’s Station is a vibrant community that loves golf, and Tiger has a real vision for what he thinks he could add,” Bell said.

It was just recently Woods first design project at Bluejack National was opened just north of Houston to much acclaim.

“We just opened up Bluejack National together, so there’s a real good understanding of what we’re both trying to accomplish, and we’re very much aligned,” Abbott said.
