Paul McGinley Arrives In France Having Played Just Nine Holes In Five Weeks.

Irishman Paul McGinley arrived in France for this week’s Alstrom Open de France having played just nine holes with his son, Killian since missing the cut in the Irish Open.

The French event is also only McGinley’s third this season after teeing-up earlier this year in the Maybank Malaysian Open.

And while McGinley’s delighted to competing in the French capital he knows he will find the 2018 Ryder Cup host venue a tough assignment.

“I haven’t played well here since they moved a lot of the tee boxes so it’s going to be a tough test for me this week,” he said.

“I am also hoping to play next week’s Scottish Open but we’ll see how we go- 8am this week.”

And McGinley will be honoured during next fortnight’s Open Championship at St. Andrews by the Association of Golf Writers for his long-time strong working relationship with the golfing media.

“It is a wonderful honour and I will be heading up to St. Andrews especially to attend the dinner and receive the award,” he said.
