The media attending this week’s PGA Tour Honda Classic had a real treat today in getting to savour the new line of Jack Nicklaus ice cream.

Yes, the 18-time Major winning Nicklaus has turned his attention to ice cream with his Golden Bear empire identifying a void in the frozen desert market.

Sure to be a Major winner – three of the eight flavours in the new line of Jack Nicklaus ice cream.

The ice cream features eight flavours such as Warm Spiced Butter Pecan, Chocolate Peanut Butter Swirl, Salted Caramel Toffee, Strawberry Lemonade, Triple Chocolate, Coffee and Donuts, and Homemade Vanilla.

Nicklaus has partnered the Minnesota-based Schwan Food Company to introduce the ice cream, and consistent with other Nicklaus products like wine, water, ice tea and lemonade, proceeds from sales will go to the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation.

“It’s no secret that I love ice cream,” Nicklaus said in a statement. “Needless to say, I have never had so much fun in the research and development of a product.

And judging by the queue in the Media Center the ice cream should be a major winner.
