What is it about Irish born golfers getting down on one knee in Dubai?
After former US Open champion Graeme McDowell did just that two years ago and now Shane Lowry has done the same.
Lowry spent last week relaxing in the UAE tourist hub after finally breaking into the top-50 on the World Rankings and the 27-year old celebrated by proposing to Wendy Iris Honner.
In October 2012 McDowell chose the 700 foot high spectacular helipad at the Burg Al Hotel hotel to pop the question to Kirstin Stape.

Lowry was more down to earth and choosing the beach front of the stunning Atlantis Hotel to propose, and also showing his affection to the future Mrs. Lowry with the double European Tour winner having her name stamped on his wedges.
“I’m absolutely delighted,” Lowry said before jetting out from Dubai to South Africa for this week’s $6.5m Nedbank Golf Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club in Sun City.
“Wendy’s a great girl and we’re both looking forward to our future together. It’s the icing on the cake, at the end of a great year.
“We can’t wait to get home and celebrate with our friends and families over Christmas.”
