No sooner had Rory McIlroy walked from the Ridgewood Country Club course following his Pro Am and he was shown a remarkable video by his manager Sean O’Flaherty of former US President George W Bush.

The four-time Major winning McIlroy had challenge Bush on Monday when he and Tiger Woods accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge.

But little did McIlroy know that Bush would be happy to accept the challenge despite giving the impression in the video below he was going to opt out and drawing on what he says ‘Being Presidential’ and instead simply writing a cheque.

The video, taken in Kennebunkport, Maine, then shows a smiling former First Lady Laura Bush standing over here husband with a bucket and then dousing him.

She says: “That cheque is from me — I didn’t want to ruin my hairstyle.”
