Rory McIlroy kept his promise when he paraded the famed Claret Jug at Old Trafford.
The current World No. 1 ranked golfer stepped out on the ground at halftime in the Manchester United clash against Swansea drawing wild applause from the some 73,000 fans.
But then it’s not known if they were applauding McIlroy’s effort last month at Royal Liverpool or eye-catching his three-piece suit and similar to the suit Ian Poulter wore to Wimbledon.
Poulter went as far to tweet the following:-
“Hey you can keep your Claret Jug but can I have my suit back please Mr @McIlroyRory I thought something was missing”.
However the season-opener in the Barclay’s Premier League didn’t go to play for McIlroy and his Man U supporters as they went down 2 – 1 to the visitors.
And Poulter couldn’t resist having a further dig at McIlroy saying:
“You do realize they are the only trophies that will be paraded at Old Trafford this season.”
