Happy Birthday to Adam Scott.

Today July 16th is Adam’s 34th birthday and this week is the Australian’s 15th straight appearance in The Open.

The Adelaide-born Scott first contested The Open in 2000 at the Old Course at St. Andrews and with his best results coming in the past two years.

Of course, Scott went agonizingly close to victory in 2012 at Royal Lytham and St. Annes when he bogeyed the four closing holes while last year he was in contention at Muirfield and finishing in a share of third behind Phil Mickelson.

Scott heads a field of eight Australians contesting golf’s oldest Major.

And Australia currently boasts the oldest-living Major Champion in Sydneysider Kel Nagle who captured the 1960 Centenary Open at St. Andrews and 20 years before Scott was born.
