Rickie Fowler Honours The Memory Of Payne Stewart.

American Rickie Fowler endeared himself to fans on the opening day of the 2014 U.S. Open Championship.

Fifteen years after the late Payne Stewart wore his customary ‘Plus Fours’ to victory in the 1999 U.S. Open on Pinehurst No. 2 and Fowler turned out in similar clothing.

Fowler birdied his second and fourth holes but dropped shots at six and nine ahead of nine straight inward half pars to end his day with a level par 70.
