As expected double Major winning Rory McIlroy has confirmed he will again jump aboard this year’s 2014 Wells Fargo Championship.

Organisrs of the event announced via Twitter today (Wed) the 24-year old will tee it up this year at Quail Hollow, his fifth consecutive appearance in the event and set to take place in Charlotte, North Carolina from 1st to 4th May.

The event will always have fond memories for McIlroy, as he recorded his first PGA Tour win there in 2010 with a blistering final round 62.

Two years later he went within a second Wells Fargo success narrowly losing out to Rickie Fowler in the play-off, before finishing T10th last year.

Joining McIlroy will be defending Quail Hollow champion Derek Ernst and England’s David Lynn who lost to the American at the first extra play-off hole.
