Augusta National Shaken After Reports Of Earthquake.

Just a few days after Augusta National was left clearing up following an ice storm and there’s reports coming out of the Georgia town that each April hosts the Masters of the area being hit by an earthquake.

Local news bureaus are saying Augusta was the epicenter of a 4.1 magnitude earthquake late on Friday night local time.

The earthquake was reportedly felt as far as west as Atlanta and as far north as Charlotte in North Carolina.

The only genuine seismic action in this sleepy part of Georgia over the past few decades was Tiger Woods 12-shot victory in the 1997 Masters and his first as a professional.

However shortly after the quake a local TV station reported:

“We’re hearing reports of damage to the water tower on Washington Road. Please avoid the area.”

However it appeared that the famed water tower located at the corner of Washington Road and Berkman’s Road was leaking, but according to officials this was later explained as outpouring of water.
