Paula Creamer Breaks Male Hearts With Wedding Announcement To US Air Force Pilot.

Paula Creamer has delivered a blow to her many male followers with the announcement she’s got herself engaged to  US Air Force pilot Derek Heath.

Creamer went on Twitter to reveal: What an amazing day yesterday!! #going to marry the man of my dreams #i am engaged

Paula CreamerThe 27-year old Creamer had once been linked to PGA Tour star Dustin Johnson but it looks as though it was a member of the US Air Force who captured the heart of the golfer affectionately known as the ‘Pink Panther’.

It is understood the couple met through their parents as Paula’s father and Derek’s father flew together in the Navy and then both became commercial airline pilots and have remained close friends.

Paula and the now 33-year old Derek met at the Kia Classic in March.

Derek, an Air Force Academy graduate, flies C-17s, large military transports, for the Air Force. He recently moved into active reserve status.

A wedding date has yet to be announced.

Creamer has won 11 tournaments as a professional, including nine LPGA Tour events. She has been as high as number 2 in the women’s world rankings following her four shot 2010 US Women’s Open success at Oakmont.

Strangely, that victory was her last as she’s been plagued by a thumb injury but she’s showing signs again of returning to the lofty heights of women’s golf with the popular Californian third in this year’s British Women’s Open.

As an amateur, Creamer won numerous junior golf titles, including 11 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tournaments. Creamer joined the LPGA Tour in 2005 and victory in that year’s Sybase Classic made her the LPGA’s second-youngest event winner.

It is due to her fondness for wearing pink, Creamer’s friend Casey Wittenberg nicknamed her the “Pink Panther.” The name followed her when she turned pro. In addition to her pink outfits, Creamer sports the color on several of her golf accessories, including her club grips and golf bag. Creamer also uses a Pink Panther head cover, in a nod to her nickname. From 2006 to 2009, she used a pink golf ball, provided by Precept Golf, during the last round of some tournaments.
