Westwood Horse Ends 3 Year Winless Drought With Victory In Dubai.

World No. 8 Lee Westwood is celebrating after his horse Rerouted won the Dubal Casthouse Trophy tonight (Thur) at the stunning Meydan Race track here in Dubai.

Rerouted has not won a race since September 2010 but with the former World No. 1 ranked Westwood and co-owner Chubby -1Chandler present the five-year old was first past the post for the third win in its career.

The horse won at odds of 6-1 to capture the £251,000 first prize cheque.

Westwood said:  “It has been a good day and I am delighted for this horse who has run some great races in defeat.”

Present also at the prize-giving ceremony was fellow part-owner Chubby Chandler

Earlier in the day Westwood recorded a first round six under par 66 on  the opening round of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
