Stephen Gallacher Stung By Two-Shot Penalty For Playing Wrong Ball At 16th Final Dunhill Day.

Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher let slip one of his best finishes this season in being slapped with a two-shot penalty for playing a wrong ball at the 16th hole during the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Gallacher, who won the 2004, was in fourth place at the time on 18-under par and then four strokes behind South African Branden Grace who was on his 14th hole.

The Scot walked from the hole a dejected figure having recorded a double bogey but with the penalty it meant signing for an ‘8’ that sent him tumbling back into a tie for 10th place on 14-under par.
