Justin Rose Looks To Capture Second Leg Of Australian Golf’s Trifecta.

Five years after capturing the Australian Masters and Justin Rose will tee up in this year’s Emirates Australian Open looking to win the second leg of Australia’s golfing trifecta.

The current World No. 5 today confirmed he will contest the event being stated at the Lakes Golf Club in Sydney  from December 6th to 9th, 2012.

Rose is coming off one of his best seasons since turning pro a day after finishing fourth in the 1998 British Open.

The Orlando-based Brit captured the WGC-Cadillac Championship in March and last month was runner-up at the Tour Championship.

However Rose’s highlight was playing a pivotal role in helping Europe regain the Ryder Cup.

The 32-year-old and four-time PGA Tour winner naturally is excited about returning to Australia.

“I’m looking forward to coming to Sydney for my first trip back to Australia in a few years and I’ve always enjoyed it,” Rose said.

And contrary to Golf Australia information on Rose’s appearance, the affable English golfer made his Australian debut in the event in 1998 in Adelaide.

Just one player, Australia’s Robert Allenby, has won all three of Australia’s major golf titles – Australian Open, Australian Masters and Australian PGA Championship.

And after being fitted with the traditional gold jacket in Melbourne in 2007, Rose’s goal will be to win in Sydney.

The Emirates Australian Open is the penultimate event on the 2012 OneAsia calendar and is followed a week later by the Australian PGA Championship presented by Coca-Cola. Greg Chalmers won both events last year and is back to defend his titles.
