Darren Clarke Odds Slashed Of Becoming 2014 Ryder Cup Captain

William Hill have slashed the price of Darren Clarke being named the European Ryder Cup Captain 2014  from 4/1 to 1/1 today and he is now the favourite to get the call. Long-time favourite Paul McGinley is not out of it but has been eased from 8/11 to 5/4.

“The race to be named Captain now looks like a head to head between Darren Clarke & Paul McGinley,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

“Darren is the new favourite and there can be little doubt that just like the last day of the 2011 Open he has the momentum!”

Ryder Cup Captain 2012: 1/1 Darren Clarke, 5/4 Paul McGinley, 7/1 Colin Montgomerie, 8/1 Thomas Bjorn, 20/1 Miguel Angel Jimenez, 25/1 Paul Lawrie, 33/1 Sandy Lyle, 50/1 Bernard Langer, 50/1 Phillip Price, 66/1 Sam Torrance, 100/1 Nick Faldo
