Once again, Tourism Ireland hosted the media attending this year’s Masters.

It is an occasion to catch up with those Irish Tourism officials working in the States and with the news that Americans travelling to play golf in Ireland is on the increase after years of decline due to the economy.

And helping that is the fact Ireland now boasts four Major champions in Padraig Harrington, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke.

And the message from Tourism Ireland was:  “We don’t like Americans, we love them.”

Also attending the function was Kenny McDowell, the father of Graeme as well as Wilma Erskine, Secretary at Royal Portrush and host club’s for this year’s Irish Open.
