UBS Hong Kong Open Officials Considering Withdrawing John Daly’s Invitation.

It is believed organisers of next month’s UBS Hong Kong Open are considering whether to withdraw the invitation afforded double Major winning, John Daly.

Daly was again the subject of controversy when he sensationally walked off midway through the opening round of the Emirates Australian Open in Sydney.

Australasian PGA Tour officials took exception to Daly’s ‘reckless’ actions by immediately withdrawing an invitation for Daly to compete in next fortnight’s Australian PGA Championship at Coolum to the north of Brisbane.

However after Daly’s performance in Sydney, and also that of his girlfriend in pushing a camera belonging to renowned Getty Image photographer, Dave Cannon, there’s big concern whether the Hong Kong Government should be paying appearance fee to the 1991 PGA and 1995 British Open winner.

Just two months ago, the 45-year old American walked off midway through last September’s Austrian Open after not agreeing with a ruling.

Daly has competed in the UBS Hong Kong Open twice before finishing 17th in 2008 and tied 56th last year.
