Pascal Grizot, Chairman of the successful French bid, revealed grandstands will run the full length of four holes at the National course in six years time.

Grandstands will be erected the full length of the first, second and then the 17th and 18th holes.

He said:  “It means you will be able to stay in a grandstand to see the drive, the second shot and the putts.”

That will be a total of close to 1,600 yards of grandstand.

As well, Euro 6m will be spent on the course expanding all 18 tees and reworking a number of greens.

European and USA players will stay in the stunning Trainon Palace in Versailles and with official functions in the Versailles Palace.
