St. Andrews, Scotland .. Tyrrell Hatton will take a one shot lead into what will a near rare European Tour ‘shotgun’ start to the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. Hatton collected two eagles and also birdied the last in a round of a 66 on the famed Old Course to move to 14-under par and one shot clear of Australia’s Marcus Fraser who birdied three of his closing four holes at Kingsbarns Links in a round of 67 for a 13-under par tally. Ryder Cup winning ...

Carnoustie, Scotland …. Tyrrell Hatton has both Tiger Woods and Ernie Els in his sights heading to a hopeful third straight success in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. Unlike a day earlier, the victorious Ryder Cup rookie posted an incident-free six-under par 66 at Carnoustie to move to a share of second on eight-under and just a shot behind the leading duo of Dane Lucas Bjerregaard (65) and Italian Andrea Pavan (63). Hatton’s effort was five strokes fewer than any one of ...

Carnoustie, Scotland …. Three months after his delight shooting an opening day 67 and on route to an eventual share of ninth in golf’s oldest major, Tony Finau returned to Carnoustie to be just as delighted in posting 66 to be inside the top-15 after two rounds of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The American, and coming off last week’s Ryder Cup disappointment, grabbed eight birdies and with only bogey at the par-3 16th on last July’s 147th Open Championship host venue Finau ...

It is right to express concern another person has been hit by a golf ball struck by a leading professional golfer. The golf world was already in damage-control mode after it became known a woman, hit by an errant Brooks Koepka tee shot on day one of the Ryder Cup, is looking like taking officials to court after sadly losing the sight of her right eye. Then to add to those headlines was news yesterday that Tyrrell Hatton hit a female spectator high on her forehead at the par-3 15th hole at Kingsbarns ...

Kingsbarns, Scotland …. Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley wound back the clock to be tied in second place on a extremely tough opening day at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. The double Dunhill winning Harrington posted a three-under par 69 and then was joined by McGinley who was competing in the last match on day one of the annual pro-am event but three-putted his last hole to finish tied with Harrington and three others in second and just a shot adrift of the leading ...

Kingsbarns, Scotland … It’s official Padraig Harrington seeks the 2020 European Ryder Cup captaincy. Harrington confirmed he will be formally advising the European Tour of his intentions and speaking after posting three-under par 69 to be sharing second place on day one of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the Kingsbarns Links course in Scotland. Harrington’s choice as replacement for the victorious Thomas Bjorn already has the backing of Rory McIlroy while fellow Versailles vice-captain, ...

Kingsbarns, Scotland …. Ryder Cup winning hero, Tyrrell Hatton was visibly shaken after he hit a woman with his tee shot on the opening day of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at the Kingsbarns Links course in Scotland. A combination of a left-hand pin placement, a 30mph left-to-right cross wind and the need for players to start their tee shots left and in the direction of spectators saw the unnamed Edinburgh woman felled at the par-3 15th hole. Back-to-back defending champion Hatton’s ...
