News that Cadillac is returning as a 2026 tournament sponsor on the PGA Tour rekindled memories of an incident I witnessed first hand just over 10 years ago during the hosting of the WGC – Cadillac Championship at Trump Doral in suburban Miami.
It was a Rory McIlroy splash for all the wrong reasons when his frustration boiled over and he hurled a $200 Nike Vapor 3-iron into the depths of one of the many lakes on the Blue Monster layout at Trump National Doral.

It was only a couple of months ago when I again had the pleasure of teeing-up at Royal Liverpool and the famed Open Championship host venue located on the English west coast shoreline at Hoylake just to south of Liverpool.
For the past few years members of the Association of Golf Writers (AGW), and with overwhelming thanks to club secretary Simon Newland, have been afforded the opportunity to tee-up annually on the course that has hosted 13 Open Championships.

Scot David Law may be returning home from Joburg a few days early than first anticipated but the Aberdonian can be proud of his efforts in the opening few events of his 2026 DP World Tour season.
Just over a year ago the Scot was staring at the uncertainty of a 2025 tournament schedule after losing playing rights for the main DP World Tour, ending his 2024 season an agonising four places shy of retaining his card.
Law accepted his plight and to his enormous credit he secured full 2025 playing status ...
