Nice Legs … Why Players Are Wearing Shorts At Leopard Creek.
It’s a sight not often seen during formal competition in men’s golf and that’s the wearing of shorts.
Of course, men are allowed to wear shorts during DP World Tour and PGA Tour practice rounds but once the competition proper gets underway, it’s the standard trousers for all players.
Though this is not the rule at this week’s co-sanctioned Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek in South Africa with officials relaxing the trousers-rule to allow the wearing of shorts.

Jamieson Devours Alfred Dunhill Course As Lions Lunched Close-By At Leopard Creek
Scott Jamieson was devouring the course with a record-setting 63 as a pride of lions dined out close-by on day two of the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa.
Jamieson muscled his way to a three-shot lead at 13-under-par on the host Leopard Creek course that borders the famed Kruger National Park at Malelane, some 250-miles east of the capital Johannesburg.
The Scot’s nine-under score is one fewer than Tartan colleague David Drysdale’s course record low of 64 on day three in 2016 ...
Jamieson Again Takes A Liking To His ‘Special’ Tournament Venue
Scotland’s Scott Jamieson again showed a fondness for his ‘special’ event of the year in posting a 68 on the opening day of the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Malelane in South Africa.
Jamieson grabbed six birdies, three on each nine, in a four under score in hot and mostly blustery conditions on the Leopard Creek course located on the edge of the famed Kruger National Park and some 250-miles east of the capital Johannesburg.
South African Dean Burmester birdied his closing two ...
Donald Could Not Be Happier With Six Ryder Cup Certainties Winning In Three Months
European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald could not be happier.
There has been three months of qualifying for the 2023 European Ryder Cup side and those who will be the expected cornerstones of Donald’s Rome side are winners.
They include six players who also were on the 2021 losing European Team side that competed at Whistling Straits.
Shane Lowry was the first to win in the 12-month 2022/23 qualifying period capturing the opening event with victory over Rory McIlroy in the BMW PGA Championship at ...
Hovland Matches Tiger Woods Winning Back-To-Back Hero World Challenge
.… Albany, The Bahamas
Vicktor Hovland was aged only 10-years when tournament host Tiger Woods in 2007 successfully defended the Hero World Challenge.
Until this week, and in the 23rd hosting of the event, Woods was the only player to win the event two years in succession.
Though that statistic is out the window after the now 25-year-old Hovland was handed the unique tiger trophy for a second year running here at the Albany course in the Bahamas.
However, Hovland had to do it the hard way ...
No Hug From Lowry But The Customary Pleasantries To End His Season In The Bahamas
.. Albany, The Bahamas.
“Any chance I can also get a hug?”
A very brave question to Shane Lowry soon after he left a scorer’s hut for a final occasion this year and also after he presented signed golf balls, as is customary, to the walking scorer and marker, ahead of embracing waiting manager Brian Moran.
Lowry then made his way in my direction, and like the good journalist I ensured he had to pass by me to get to the clubhouse.
It’s when I bravely asked ...
We Miss Rickie Fowler & His Victory Champagne
.. Albany, The Bahamas
The appearance of a carton of beer in the fridge of the Hero World Challenge media centre reminded me of Richie Fowler.
Let me explain.
American Kevin Kisner celebrated just a second PGA Tour ace in his career in holing out, using a 6-iron at the par-3 12th hole on day three of the Hero World Challenge.
There was no brand new Hero motor-bike nor the keys to a luxury Albany apartment but just the honour on the next tee, on route to Kisner posting a 77 and slump to a share ...
