Playing The 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Pro-Am In The Company Of ‘G Mac’.
When I walked up to Graeme McDowell on the K. Club practice range early this morning he joked: “What did I do to deserve you in my Pro-Am team?”
We walked off some five hours later after I had remarked to G Mac: “You know, I just spent five hours in your company and I never asked you one question on record”.
G Mac replied, and clearly tongue in cheek: “You know, Bernie this could be the start of a new-found relationship. You and I playing golf together and you ...

Rory McIlroy’s frustrating season boiled over on the eve of the Irish Open in criticising the negative spin that’s been put on his performances over the past six months.
The four-time Major winner is hosting the event at the K. Club and the first time the Co. Kildare course, located just south of Dublin, has staged a major event since the 2006 Ryder Cup.
Back then McIlroy was just 18 years and another face in the very partisan European crowd that helped steer Europe to a nine-point triumph.
He ...

Graeme McDowell knows all too well his goal of qualifying automatically for a fifth straight Ryder Cup later this year hinges on competing this season in all four Majors.
Unfortunately, McDowell has not yet qualified for July’s Open Championship at Royal Troon and where he made his debut in 2004 in golf’s oldest Major.
It is the first occasion McDowell has not been exempt into The Open since 2010 and on the back of earning a five-year exemption in winning earlier that year the U.S. Open at Pebble ...
