Dusseldorf – Rhine River, Restaurants, Euro 2012 & BMW International Open.
For a first time since 1996 the BMW International Open is not being contested in the Bavarian capital of Munich.
Instead, the event is being staged on the Jack Nicklaus designed Gut Larcenhof course near Pulhiem and about halfway between Cologne and Dusseldorf.
The course used to play host to the Linde German Masters and then the Mercedes Benz Championship.
And while many of those working at the tournament in the past elected to base themselves in Cologne, it is Dusseldorf where we are residing for ...
Tour Miss – Birthday Celebration.
Thanks to all those who wished me happy birthday. It was quite a surprise how many people contacted me.
It was a great day with Mollie, who is looking after us during BMW PGA Championship, baking a wonderful chocolate cake. So thank you so much to her and to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.

Flying From Funchal Into Lisbon.
Admittedly, it was around a fortnight ago but out flight from Funchal to Lisbon following the Madeira Islands Open was quite spectacular.
Shortly after leaving Funchal we had a superb view of the island of Santo and seen clearly from the air was the Seve Ballesteros designed Porto Santo course that hosted the tournament from 2009 to 2011.
Also the view coming into the Portuguese capital was superb.

‘Head In The Clouds’ At Madeira Islands Open.
We all know what the saying ‘You’ve got your head in the clouds’ means.
However for those in attendance at this week’s Madeira Islands Open it has given the saying a whole new meaning.
On a couple of occasions during the week clouds rolled in off the Atlantic Ocean to engulf the course, and with players lost to spectators and officials.
Under a local rule, players have to remain in place until the cloud disappears which was the case this week with no more than 15 minutes lost.

Marvellous Madeira Island – Funchal Harbour & Marina
It is my first visit to the marvellous island of Madeira and, as such, my first visit to the Madeira Islands Open being played this year on the Santo de Serra course high in the mountains.
Madeira Island was discovered in 1416 and is the outermost region of the region of the European Union.
The Maderia Islands comprise three island groups – Madeira, Porto Santo and Desertas.
The city of Funchal is the largest on Maderia and it where we are based this week.

Sensational Seville By Night.
Seville has to be one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and our destination this week for the European Tour.
At the centre of the old part of Seville is the 16th Century Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world and the world’s third largest cathedral.
The cathedral was built to display the cities wealth and interestingly it is the burial site of Christopher Columbus.
The whole area is dotted with fabulous old buildings and countless dozens of restaurants and bars.

Centennary Spanish Open Launch At Stunning Alcázar Seville Palace
The stunning and historic Reales Alcazared de Sevilla or Royal Alcazars of Seville was the backdrop for the official launch of the centennary Spanish Open.
The royal palace that was the former residence of Peter I and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
