The Duel At Jinsh Lake – Flight From Shanghai To Zhengzhou.
We’re a little behind with our ‘Life on Tour’ reports but then it also has been a hectic few days travelling from Shanghai and the BMW Masters to the north-central Chinese city of Zhenghou.
However it was an early morning departure Monday out of Shanghai after the intended 9.40pm flight didn’t leave to 12.30am due to the late arrival of the Shanghai Airlines flight from Tokyo.
As it turned out, we didn’t make the hotel room to 3.30am and then had to ready to leave ...
Rory McIlroy – A Day In The Life Of The World No. 1.
It’s once again been a pretty busy week here in Shanghai for the inaugural BMW Masters.
However it’s not been as near as busy than what World No. 1 Rory McIlroy has had to endure away from the golf course.
McIlroy’s busiest day was Tuesday when he joined Martin Kaymer, Ian Poulter and Chinese No. 1 Ashun Wu for a pre-event press conference.
There was the standout question to McIlroy whether he thought he could double as James Bond and then a series of TV interviews before a short ...
Stunning Shanghai Sunrise.
One of the advantages of dealing with jet-lag is you are often awake very early in the morning, and many hours before you normally climb out of bed.
After the long flight from the UK on Sunday afternoon, it was not to around 5pm Monday afternoon local Shanghai time we arrived at the hotel for our stay during this week’s BMW Masters.
However the jet-lag was still in the system this morning but then imagine the sight when stepping out onto the hotel balcony – a stunning Shanghai sunrise.
I ...
Turkish Airlines World Golf Final – Flight & Arrival Into Antalya.
Despite the early arrival time into Antalya is was a smooth four hour flight from Edinburgh to Turkey.
Some 34 media representatives boarded the Turkish Airlines flight and that meant three seats to ourselves.
We arrrived at 3am and by the time we paid for a visa and then collected the suitcases it was close to 4am. We board a mini-bus to the magnifcient Gloria Resort Hotel and managed to fall into bed around 5am.
However it wasn’t to 1pm when I managed to get myself out of bed. After a ...
Stunning Sunrise Over Crail Golfing Society.
It was rare but stunning sunrise today over the east coast of Scotland and the Crail Golfing Society.
It was also day three of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and given the late tee times for many of the $US 5m tournament’s leading stars what better way to spend the early morning than a game of golf.
Euan McLean’s a very good friend and also Chief Golf correspondent for Scotland’s leading newspapers – the Daily Record and Sunday Mail.
So I organised for Euan and ...
Pizza, Pasta, Whipped Cream, Limoncello & A Haircut With A Nail Clipper.
The BMW Italian Open ended with a Spaniard winning Italy’s national open just as an Italian had won the Spanish Open earlier this year in Seville.
So congratulationxs to Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano who won a second BMW Italian Open title by two shots from the very talented and good friend of www.golfbytourmiss.com, Garth Mulroy.
The night before myself and Rubee King were joined for dinner by leading Irish-born golf photographer, Fran Caffrey (www.golffile.ie), Scotland’s golfing doyen, ...
The General Lee Masking As A Fiat 500 In Turin.
The ‘General Lee’, masking as a Fiat 500L was spotted this morning parked close to our hotel for this week’s BMW Italian Open in suburban Turin.
And unlike his much bigger brother, the Dodge Charger, this car proudly boasts – Made in Italy as you can see from the snaps hereunder.
The real ‘General Lee’ is the Dodge Charger driven by the Duke cousins Bo and Luke in the hit TV series, The Dukes of Hazard.
It is known for the chases and stunts, especially high jumps, ...
