If reports are correct then Paul McGinley’s recent transAtlantic audition for the vacant NBC TV hosting role may have be to no avail. Aussie Geoff Ogilvy has seemedingly bumped the Irishman out of favouritism for the prime PGA Tour TV commentary position. That’s the view according to Sports Business Journal naming the 43-year-old and former 2006 US Open winning Ogilvy as set to replace Paul Azinger for the next month’s opening event of the 2024 PGA Tour schedule. Ogilvy’s captured a ...

Scot David Drysdale maybe a tinge disappointed but he’s heading home sky high delighted to have secured his 2024 Asian Tour card. Drysdale signed for a disappointing second round, not helped by the shortest club in his bag in posting a five-over-par 76 to miss the cut by four shots in the season-ending PIF Saudi Open in Riyadh. He recorded two early round double-bogeys to make the turn in four-over before dropped shots at 12 and 14 ahead of a birdie at the par-5 15th. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ...

Scot David Drysdale will look to get into top gear heading to day two of the Asian Tour season-ending PIF Saudi Open in Riyadh. Drysdale, 48, bogeyed two of his closing three holes in a one-over 72 to be just inside the top-50 but trailing eight adrift of Thailand’s Chapchai Nirat, who signed for a seven-under 64 and lead by two shots. Around 150 miles north in suburban Orlando, Tiger Woods will team with son Charlie in the annual PNC Championship on the host Ritz Carlton course. It will be Woods second PGA Tour sanctioned appearance since last fortnight’s Hero World Challenge, and where Woods ...

Scot David Drysdale has shaken off a niggling neck injury, admitting he’s now proud and also excited ahead of confirmation of retaining his Asian Tour card at this week’s season-ending PIF Saudi Open in Riyadh. Drysdale, 48, tees-up lying a comfortable 43rd on the money list and with the leading 65 season money-earners exempt for their 2024 Tour card at the close of play this Sunday on the host Riyadh Club course in the Saudi capital. A recurring neck injury forced the golfer affectionately ...

If Russell Knox needs any reminder of his golfing talent ahead of this week’s PGA Tour Final Qualifier, he has only to open the door of his affectionately named ‘The Knox Golf Room’. The room is a small extension to his Ponte Vedra abode where he stores everything golf related … bags, photographs, posters, tournament flags, clubs, gloves, caps, clothing, balls, shoes, commemorative glasses, everything. Anytime Knox and his wife, Andrea along with their beloved Cavapoo Rusty, and now aged ...

Scotland’s Russell Knox has labelled the present landscape the men’s pro golf a ‘bit of joke’ following on the latest news Joh Rahm has formally signed with LIV Golf. Formal confirmation of Rahm’s reputed £550m deal is a massive boost for the Saudi-back league and now sees three of the last five major winners playing the rival LIV tour. As well, we’ve had two of Rahm’s Rome Ryder Cup winning team-mates, firstly in Rory McIlroy sounding off at the DP World Tour that needs ...
