MacIntyre Heads To La Quinta Happy To Shake Off New Season Rust In Hawaii
EXCLUSIVE ....
Top-Scot Robert MacIntyre has arrived in La Quinta eagerly looking forward to building on last week’s ‘rusty’ PGA Tour career opener in Hawaii.
MacIntyre birdied the last in a closing round 67 to finish at seven-under and just outside the top-50 in the event won by American Grayson Murray, who holed a monster birdie at the first play-off to capture a second Tour title and just over six-years after his first.
The Oban lefty MacIntyre admitted to be a little rusty following the ...
McIlroy Remains One Win From 17 First New Year Tournaments
Rory McIlroy remains one win from 17 first New Year events after virtually handing good friend Tommy Fleetwood victory at the close of the inaugural Dubai Desert Invitational.
The World No. 2 ranked McIlroy was leading by a shot heading down the final hole when he terribly hooked his ball well left finding the waters of Dubai Creek.
After taking a penalty drop, McIlroy found the green in three but then two-putted for third clumsy bogey of his round and falling shy of finishing tied with Fleetwood, ...
Fleetwood’s Caps 8,700 Mile Hawaii To Dubai Journey With First Victory Since Late ’22
Tommy Fleetwood travelled near 8,700 miles from Hawaii to end a more two year winless drought with victory in the inagural Dubai Invitational in Dubai.
And Fleetwood’s seventh DP World Tour victory, and his first since capturing the 2022 Nedbank Challenge in South Africa, comes thanks to a pair of closing birdies in a last round of 67 for a one shot win 19-under-par tally on the host Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club course.
Fleetwood, who turns 33 this coming Saturday, sealed success also in ...
Questions As American Nobody Golfer Shoots 53-Over At Dubai Invitational
Questions will continue to be asked after American golfer – 54-year-old Ken Weyand – posted a 53-over-par tally to finish last by 39 shots at the inaugural Dubai Invitational.
Weyand, 54, ended the four rounds with an incredibly unheard 72 strokes behind champion Tommy Fleetwood’s 19-under victory tally on the host Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club course.
The Florida-based Weyland posted scores of 87, 82, 82 and a closing 86 for a horror 337 tally and so far adrift of Sweden’s ...
Newly-Married Forrest Admits McIlroy’s A ‘Super Power’.
Newly-married Grant Forrest reckons World No. 2 Rory McIlroy is a ‘super power’ when it comes to driving the golf ball.
Forrest, who was married just prior to the end of last year at a lavish ceremony at the Archerfield Golf Club to the east of Edinburgh, is among five Scots contesting this week’s inaugural Dubai Invitational in the UAE.
Forrest has posted scores of 73, 68 and 71 for a one-under tally and just inside the leading 30 heading to the final round being played in this ...
MacIntyre Thanks Pelley For Providing The Scot ‘With A Pathway To His Dreams’
Robert MacIntyre has thanked out-going Tour CEO Keith Pelley for providing Scotland’s top-ranked golfer ‘with a pathway to his dreams’.
Pelley celebrated his 60th birthday Thursday in somewhat bizarre manner, first learning while competing in this week’s inaugural pro/amateur Dubai Invitational, that news of him quitting as head of the European Tour Group had been unceremonously leaked by his new employer.
It put the Tour, that’s he’s been their head since May 2015, in damage control ...
