Hilton Head – A Relaxing Tour Stop But Don’t Get Caught Speeding Getting There
For most, it’s a welcome relief travelling the 130 odd miles southeast from the stress of the Masters in Augusta, Georgia to Hilton Head in South Carolina for this week’s more relaxed RBC Heritage.
The most direct driving route is along South Carolina highway SC 125 and then turn right onto SC 321 before emerging south onto the I-95, and a short time later taking the turn-off to Hilton Head.
Driving the two South Carolina roads is kind of like a time warp. You drive through very sleepy ...
Woods Ends Anniversary of His Maiden Masters Victory Still A Winner
Tiger Woods is a winner!
No, Woods didn’t win the 2022 Masters nor did he contend, but the sight of Woods some 14 months after his near fatal car crash walking all four days at golf’s revered ‘Cathedral in the Pines’ was the stuff of champions.
Woods had come back from extended lay-offs and most due to back surgery but this week, and from the longest period away from the game of his 26-year-pro career, was totally different.
Prior to this past week, it had been 508 says since Woods last ...
Askernish Golf Club – Stunning Selection of Videos & Photographs Of The Old Tom Morris Golfing Jewel
As many visitors to GolfByTourMiss may know, one of my favourite golfing destinations is Askernish Golf Club.
The 86th Masters – What’s Your First Thought? What Do You Buy At Augusta? How Long Is Magnolia Lane? We Ask The Players
Weather permitting those golfers teeing up in the 86th hosting of the Masters have till 3 pm today (local time) to wind up their preparations ahead of the championship.
It will be a case of the old tournament golf saying: “If you haven’t got your game sorted out by now, then it’s good luck!”
Of course, all interest will center on whether five-time Masters champ Tiger Woods thinks he will be fit to be introduced Thursday at 10.24 am on the first tee: ‘Fore please! Tiger Woods now driving”.

Tiger & Bernie – Twenty-Seven Years Since Their Maiden Masters
Question! What does Tiger Woods have in common with Bernie McGuire?
Absolutely nothing I hear you laughingly shout. Well, you’re wrong!
This year marks the 27th anniversary that Tiger and myself made our Masters debut. Tiger was the then U.S. Amateur champion, having won the first of what would be three straight championship titles.
Your Aussie-born author was then, and still is, a struggling 15-handicapper at Crail in Scotland, arriving at Augusta National having been accredited by the ...
Austin Country Club – First Described A ‘Terrible DesigAn Property’, Now A Shrine To Texas Golfing Greats
Like most things in Texas, the Austin Country Club is a big golf course.
The course that again plays host, somewhat we understand controversially, to this week’s final hosting of the WGC – Dell Technologies Match-Play championship measures 7,062-yards, was carved out of hillsides, with many holes over-looking steep gorges, and also with a handful of holes running along the floodplain of the Colorado River in the north-western outskirts of the Texas capital.
The Austin Country Club was ...
McGuire: Twenty-Seven Friendly Years Following Tiger To His Hall Of Fame Induction
I have never been formally introduced to Tiger Woods but in the course of reporting on his winning ways around the world, I somehow became a friend.
A friend, not in the sense I had his phone number and I could ring him up and see if he wanted to go out for a game of golf and an afterward beer.
No, nothing like that. More in the sense I would be present among the media where Woods was competing, and that he would see me at tournaments, and then in the course of sticking my hand-up to ask a ...
