Monty Misses Spanish Open Cut But Delights Visiting School Children.
Colin Montgomerie had good cause not to be happy missing the Spanish Open halfway but he delighted five school children after his round.
Monty, winner of the 1994 Spanish Open, was heading home early after rounds of 76 and 77 for a nine over par tally.
But to his credit he posed with five visiting children from the Windelsham School in West Sussex, England.
All five are golfers and Monty wished them well in their studies and their golf.

Italian stallion Matteo Manassero has lengthened and changed the shafts in all his irons with the goal of reaching further European Tour success.
The 19-year old, and double Tour winner, had Titleist staff replace the shafts in his irons with shafts a half-an-inch longer.

American Shaun Micheel used a new putter to force his way to a one stroke lead on the first day of rain and wind affected round in the 100th Spanish Open.
The 43-year old American, who captured the 2003 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, used a new Odyssey XG-7 putter in carding a five under par 67 no the Real de Golf de Sevilla course.
