Romain Wattel Lands Second Swiss Ace But No New Car.
Frenchman Romain Wattel became the second player in two days to ace the par three 11th but unfortunately he missed out on the prize of a gleaming new BMW.
The prize of a new car had been grabbed a day earlier by England’s Graeme Storm.
Wattel’s only reward was the honor on the next tee but then organisers will be sure of present him with a large bottle of bubbly.
It was a first Tour hole-in-one for both players and also came after the pair had bogeyed the 10th hole.
A Journey Into Outer Space For The First KLM Open Ace.
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the first European Tour golfer to rocket into outer space.
That’s the price for the first player to record an ace at the par-3 15th hole at Kennemer Golf & Country Club in Zandvoort, Netherlands during next week’s KLM Open.
There’s the usual prize of a gleaming new car and sometimes a house, maybe a gold bar or in the case in one event in Australia the price for an ace was a full funeral service.
But the prize of a trip into outer ...

Rory McIlroy’s Rocky BMW Day One Finish In Rocky Mountain State.
World No. 1 Rory McIlroy let slip the clubhouse lead with what he described was a ‘frustrating’ finish to his round of a three under par 67 on day one of the BMW Championship in Denver, Colorado.
McIlroy had raced to the lead at five under par after 12 holes but ended with back-to-back bogeys at his 16th and 17th holes on the Cherry Hills course.
It saw the four-time Major winner end his round tied with American Gary Woodland and Ryder Cup rookie Jordan Spieth.
“I though I hit a ...
