McGinley Increases European Ryder Cup ‘Wildcard’ Picks To Three.

European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley has mirrored the decision of USA Team rival Tom Watson in today announcing three ‘wildcard’ picks for his 2014 European Team. McGinley travelled last fortnight to the Players Championship in Florida and return with the unamimous agreement of all the leading Europeans competing on the PGA Tour to increase the number of picks to three. Anchoring Ban – D Day For Controversial Ruling.

Today is D Day for the anchoring ban of the belly and long-handled putters. In a joint news conference at 1pm (London time) golf’s ruling bodies, the R & A and USGA, will announce a ban on anchoring any club to the body.
