World No. 1 Rory McIlroy equalled the 26-year old tournament record in winning by three shots a second Dubai Desert Classic crown.
McIlroy posted a final round 70 for a 22-under par tally to be now tied with Thomas Bjorn (2001) and Stephen Gallacher (2013) in sharing the 72-hole low record.

Spain’s Alvaro Quiros undertook an 11,000 kilometer (6,800 mile) round trip home for nasal surgery to then record his lowest round in 16 months thanks to a fifth hole-in-one of his career on the final day of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Ireland’s Peter Lawrie continues to grow in confidence after playing all four rounds of the Dubai Desert Classic.
