Scotland’s Marc Warren will bring the number of European Tour members heading for the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational to 35 after securing his Firestone County Club entry off the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking.

It had been three years and a month after the excitement of first visiting Askernish Golf Club and the ‘Old’ Tom Morris designed links gem laid out along the Atlantic Ocean shoreline on the west coast of the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides.

Barra & Vatersay Islands Visit – Ferries, Beach Runways, Castles & Memorials.
It was a second visit to the Outer Hebrides but a first to the islands of Barra and Vaterday lying to the south of the island of Eriksay.
To reach Barra Island by vehicle it meant catching a 45-minute ferry from Eriksay to the northern-east tip of Barra Island while Vatersay is joined to Barra by a causeway.

Fellow Scot Chris Doak has taken out tournament host Paul Lawrie to reach the third round of the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match-Play Championship.
In a see-sawing encounter Lawrie went 1up after 3 holes before the Callaway attached Doak leveled at the next. However for the next four holes it was 1up, all square, 1up and all square before Doak won the 13th to go 2up and then eventually silencing Lawrie 1up.
