Ferguson Warms To Fond Memories Of Host Soudal Open Course In Antwerp
Scotland’s Ewan Ferguson drew on fond host golf course memories to lead the Scottish challenge after the opening day of the Soudal Open outside of Antwerp in Belgium.
Ferguson bounced back from a 15th hole to bogey to birdie the 16th in an eventual round of a four-under 67 in bright but windy conditions on the host Rinkven International course.
The reigning Qatar Masters champ finished third on the same course at the 2019 Belgian Knockout, and in a season with four other secondary Challenge ...
Power Returns To AT & T Byron Nelson Where His Stunning Run First Connected
Seamus Power’s return to this week’s AT & T Bryon Nelson in Texas is special for many reasons.
It was a year ago the then No. 342 world-ranked Irishman began a run of results that two months later led to a maiden PGA Tour triumph.
Power made his way to the TPC Craig Ranch, to the north of Dallas, and for four rounds was never outside of the top-10 posting a superb starting round of 65, and followed it up with rounds of 68, 67 and a closing day 70 to share ninth place.
It was Power’s 112th PGA ...
Ramsay On A Promise Daughter Olivia Gets To Put Her Toys In Betfred British Masters Trophy
Scotland’s Richie Ramsay remains quietly confident of ending a seven-year winless drought and, in the process, dedicating Betfred British Masters success to his six-year-old daughter, Olivia.
Ramsay, 38, fought back from a mid-round double-bogey while leading, and though hitting back with a next hole birdie, his third-round level par 72 sees him tied at eight-under and four shots off the lead.
Dane Thorbjorn Olesen muscled his way to a three-shot lead, finishing eagle and birdie in a three-under ...
Wells Fargo Stagecoaches, Gun-Toting Bandits, Horses & McIlroy
…. Bernie ‘Randolph Scott’ McGuire
Mention of the Wells Fargo Championship trips a switch and has me thinking of stagecoaches being chased by a gang of masked bandits atop of their equally mean-looking horses, firing Colt-45s that never run out of bullets.
It’s an image, I admit, that comes from watching far too many Randolpn Scott, John Wayne or Jimmy Stewart Western movies.
Having been in the States for the 2020 Players Championship when PGA Tour Commissioner, Jay Monahan announced ...
Scottish Teen Sensation Connor Graham Inspired By Tiger Woods
Scottish teen sensation Connor Graham continues to be inspired by Tiger Woods after finishing runner-up in the prestigious Lytham Trophy.
Graham, 15, birdied six of his closing 27 holes and dropped just two shots in the 56th hosting of the event over the famed Open Championship venue.
The young Scot was in the Lytham clubhouse tied for the lead before England’s John Gough birdied the 17th to win by a shot.
Graham said: “Tiger’s always been my favourite golfer because of what’s done for ...
Drysdale Draws On Fond Catalunya Memories To Lead Scots In Spain
Scotland’s David Drysdale drew on fond host course memories to head the Tartan charge on day one of the Catalunya Championship at the famed PGA Resort facility at Girona in Spain.
Drysdale grabbed four birdies in a three-under par 69 to be trailing three shots behind the leading trio of South Africans Darren Fichardt and Oliver Bekker, along with Dane Jeff Winther in posting scores of 66. Fichardt, with six birdies from the 10th to 17th, had been leading by two but came unstuck in doubling ...
Howie Insists He’s Primed To Unleash Rookie Season Fireworks
Tour rookie Craig Howie insists he’s ready to set off the fireworks as he seeks to celebrate making it seven pay cheques in as many events this rookie season with a hopeful victory in this week’s Catalunya Championship in Girona.
Howie, 27, has not missed the weekend rounds since earning his 2022 DP World Tour card and with the Peebles golfer among eight Scots teeing-up on the Stadium course at PGA Catalunya to the north-east of Barcelona. It’s the first time the course has hosted a Tour ...
