Ryan Fox: The Claret Jug Continues To Remain Full.

Open Champion Ryan Fox continues to ensure the famed Claret Jug remains full.

Some six weeks after being handed golf’s oldest major championship victory trophy and Fox is not about to leave the Claret Jug on its lonesome.

And why would he?

The trophy has travelled to his beloved New Zealand.  It’s been part of his luggage in returning to competition at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and also was in attendance at last week’s BMW Championship.

And the World No. 25th ranked Ryan is promising at this week’s PGA Tour Championship to take the Claret Jug to dinner.  Yes, to dinner.

“I’ve had a couple of functions I’ve been able to take it (Claret Jug) to and stuff, which is good. I’ve got it here this week again. It’s travelled with me pretty much everywhere I’ve been the last five or six weeks,” said Fox after posting a four-under 66 to be sharing ninth place post day one of the championship at East Lake.

“I’ve got a really good friend here who we’re going to dinner with tomorrow. So I’m going to take the Claret Jug to dinner and put a little bit of wine in it for them to have a drink out of.

“That’s pretty cool to be able to do and also pretty special to be able to do those things”.

You’re not wrong Ryan and looking forward myself to also having a wee sip (smiling).
