Susanne Kemper, Pebble Beach, CA …
The second day of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was greeted with delays Friday morning due dense fog engulfing the Monterey Peninsula and the day ended earlier when heavy mist rolling in off the Pacific.
But before the second round could get under way we had many players and amateurs still to finish their first round.
The second round finally started at 10:30am but then with dense fog and intermittent showers, adding to the soaked layouts at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass, and Monterey Peninsula Country Club.
When play was called there was around 30 players who managed to complete two rounds.
The celebrities moved to testing Spyglass for their second round after finishing up at Monterey Peninsula CC.
Edgy boutique eatery Rio Grill’s Executive Chef Cy Yontz served up breakfast burritos, smoked tri-tip sliders, plus homemade granola and wheat grass shots to energize all on Spyglass’s No 1. Tee.
Leading the pack was Jordan Spieth -10 after 36 holes with his musician partner, Jake Owen, who swings the club “sweetly”.
Owen loved the sliders “even though I don’t eat carbs”.

Four days after New England coach Bill Belichick became the winningest coach in Super Bowl history when the Patriots beats the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 last Sunday in Houston.
Playing opposite them like in 2016 was Dustin Johnson with “The Great One” Wayne Gretsky always signing tons of mementos, was wowed with the sliders.
Comedian Ray Romano was thanked continually by volunteers for the top show he put on for them Thursday night. Romano was “in the mood for a swing thought as I’m just not hittin’ it well. Help.” Justin Rose and Justin Timberlake were having a tough time with “these brutal conditions”.
Country Western Superstar Toby Keith – “Red Solo Cup” and “Courtesy of the Red, White, Blue” – was overwhelmed with a bevy of irresistible blondes waiting for “selfies” and autographs. Actor Mark Wahlberg’s stellar lefty swing excited the fans lining the fairways even though he was having some back issues after the first nine holes. Callaway has a great ambassador with Wahlberg.
Close behind in popularity was Boston Patriots Coach, Bill Belichick, winning 2017 Super Bowl coach to add to his other six Super Bowl victories.
Playing Cleveland sticks, Belichick is passionate about his golf, rips his drives too.
Play was called at 4:00 due to fog; many teams were still out, some with as many as seven holes remaining. Spieth -10 holds Clubhouse lead, while Derek Fathauer was at -10 with a hole to play, and Jason Day lurks at -9 with six holes to play.
