Four-time Major winning Rory McIlroy ends 2016 revealing he has a ‘pea head’.

And this is after one of the more bizarre Twitter questions put to the Northern Irishman was answered by McIlroy and more than two months since he competed hat-less at the Hazeltine Ryder Cup.

McIlroy fan Eddie Rowell, based in Stanstead, England, tweeted McIlroy:

Eddie Rowell @eddie1972r   “@McIlroyRory Hi Rory was just wandering why you didn’t wear a cap whilst playing in the Ryder Cup when you always do normally”.

And McIlroy got back to Rowell explaining: “I’ve a pea head and the hats were way too big for me!”

It prompted Rowell to then tweet: “Fantastic @McIlroyRory answering my question and good luck for 2017, knock the rest for 6!! #IGotATweetFromRory!!”

Naturally, McIlroy’s response also soon prompted a number of counter tweets including one mischievous reply:-

David Miller ‏@DavidPricewise   “It wouldn’t have happened on McGinley’s watch”.
