G Mac Getting Back Into Golf’s Overtaking Lane In Indianapolis.

Crooked Stick, Carmel, IN … After working so hard to make a European Ryder Cup impression, Graeme McDowell is finally getting himself back into golf’s overtaking lane as evident on the second day of the BMW Championship

McDowell bounced back from a double bogey late on day one in his round of 73 to post six second day birdies in a five under par 67 and move to four under par on a rain-softened Crooked Stick course in suburban Indianapolis.

It was McDowell’s lowest score in seven PGA Tour rounds since a 64 on day three of last month’s Wyndham Championship where he finished in a share of fifth place.

“My game is so close and all I am doing is trying to stay patient,” he said.

“It’s been a frustrating summer and for all the right reasons I had my head in other things so the game is really, really close.

“So I will be grinding now trying to get myself to Atlanta and that will be great and if not, I will hit the reset button and try to finish strong in the rest of the year and look forward to the next chapter in my life.

“That means not having to think about weddings or babies and I can just focus on my family and my golf.”

McDowell starts the third day of the $US 8.5m event tied with fellow Irishman Rory McIlroy and with the current World No. 3 adding a disappointing 72 to his first round 68.
