Two Aces 7,000 Klms Apart – Jimenez At Spanish Open, Knost At Wells Fargo C’ship … See The Video.

In a rare achievement there was two aces but recorded 7,000 kilometers apart.

Earlier today (Frid) Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez grabbed the ninth hole-in-one of his career during the second round of the Spanish Open in Barcelona.

And Jimenez’s ace equaled the European Tour record of Colin Montgomerie.

The Tour’s oldest winner earned 288 bottles of beer for his hole-in-one, which came when his six-iron pitched around 15 feet short of the pin and rolled perfectly into the hole.

Around nine hours later American Colt Knost aced the par three 17th hole at the Wells Fargo Championship here in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Callaway golfer’s shot was almost a mirror of Jimenez’s in hitting the green short and running almost 30 feet into the bottom of the cup.

Strangely, it was only the second hole-in-one in the history of the Wells Fargo Championship.

Bizarrely, Knost then revealed he asked a four-year old fan sitting inside the ropes on the 17th tee if he could swap a full tee he had in his hand for a broken tee being  held by the young boy.

“His dad then said to me:  ‘Only if you hit it close’.  It then went in.”

Jimenez’s ace was his second this year after managing a holing out at the 15th hole on day one of this year’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in the UAE.

Here is video of both aces recorded today.
